Reading The Mysterious Island, (lost count)

(see last couple posts on this subject)

Sure enough they found a large hole in the tunnel. They have made a house there and called Granite House. They made windows and even a door in the thinnest part. The house happens to be a cliff right next to the sea. They made a rope ladder up the face of the cliff and blocked up the old entrance. They made some more bricks and divided the area into rooms. There was a well like hole at the end of the cavity and they could see that the water would never come back up. They put a lid over the hole and made that corner a storage room. I thick that it would be very easy to sweep for you just take the broom or brush and gather all the dust, lift the lid and dump it into the hole. They managed to catch a pig and its babies so they had pig for supper. Pencroft the sailor took a big bite and lost a tooth. Spilett asked what the matter was and the sailor said "I have lost a tooth"
"What! Are there pebbles in your slice?"
Pencroft brought out a lead bullet. It was then assumed (contrary to other observations) that the island was inhabited. They found a turtle and turned it upside down and went away going to get it latter. But when they returned it was gone! They then decided that A search of the island was needed. They made a bark boat and set out for the other side of the island. They found a lot of useful resources with witch they were very grateful. They found a chest witch contained loads of useful items. They found the balloon that had taken them to this island and they thought of it as a gift from heaven as the fabrics could be put to good use and the net could also be very useful. But it was to heavy to take with them so they hid it and continued on. But when the got back to Granite House it was midnight and in the darkness the searched for the rope ladder but found none. So they all called out and herd a chuckle in reply but other than that nothing was heard. So they went back to the chimneys and stayed there for the night. The next morning they found that the door was open. They tried to bring the ladder down by shooting and arrow with a rope attached to it. But as they began to pull the ladder down they saw an arm reach out of the door to pull the ladder back up which it succeeded in doing though not with out a shot aimed at it. The shot missed. So they decided that they should go in though the opening and just then loads of monkeys jumped out. a few seconds after which the rope ladder rolled down. They then climbed up and found an orangutan whom they named Jup and they trained Jup to be a servant.
I still haven't caught up but mother is complaining that I am taking to long so I will continue on Monday.

Haiku

Beth and I had to write a Haiku for school. This was my Haiku:

Beautiful spring buds
They hold me fascinated
Many colored blooms.

Warmth: Good or Bad

I have mixed feelings about the warmth that is slowly but surely arriving.
Reasons I like it:
  1. I ride (Horses) better when it is warmer.
  2. I can go out to the car without a coat. (I am especially thankful on Sabbaths when I where my short-sleeved Pathfineder shirt)
  3. We can have the windows open.
  4. There are games I like to play when its warm.
  5. There are many things I like to do outside that I can't do when there is snow on the ground.
  6. There are many things I can't do when it is cold.
But there Are also thing I don't like about it.
  1. I like playing in the snow.
  2. The snow hasn't been here long.
  3. I like how beautiful it is.
  4. We have some more types of birds in our backyard in the winter.
  5. The cats are a little less eager to go outside.
  6. The poops and mud are frozen at the barn and it is much easier to clean the stalls and clean there hooves.
These are some of the reasons that I have mixed feelings about the warmer weather.
