Chapter 4 Day 4

Sammy woke up to the usual rush of the day. Breakfast was eaten with a liveliness. everybody looked like each had a secret. They left in a hurry. Sammy was surprised when mother came back for lunch! Father had stayed away. Mother said that father had gone to work instead of help with the rebuilding of the school. "Multiple busses came carrieng hundreds of workers. The mayor of the next town over sent them because he had heard the news bulliten on the radio that we heard." The foundation was still there so all they had to do to rebuild the school was erect some walls and a roof, and they had just finished. They would get fancy later. Mother made lunch and started baking for supper. She made green rice caseroll to which Sammy said happily, "My favoite!"

Chapter 3 Day 3

Sammy was packing in his room late at night. He crept down the stairs and heard some strange noises and went to the window. There he saw a burglar coming up the driveway. He alerted his parents and then called the police. They came and before you knew it, it was over. So Sammy decided to stay. They all went back to sleep and when the sun arose they all got up and listened to the radio.
"And now for our morning news." it said "A little boy named Sammy Anter stopped a buglery. He had crept downstairs and saw a strange man out the window. Sure enough in a few minutes the guy came in through a window. But Sammy kept a clear head. He woke up his parents and called the police." The reporter claimed. "It is surprising how many bad things have happed in this town. With the school being burned down and all. That reminds me. Two interesting things have happened concerning the school. First of all 1/6 of the workers seem to have disappeared. They suddenly have stopped coming to work. Officials are investigating. The other is that a suprising number of kids in the city are greatly disapointed that the school burned down. Maybe fewer kids hate school than we thought."
Father reached over and clicked the radio off. When the sun had set Sammy's parents talked to him. Their last words were "See God does answer prayers. Even bad things can be good."

Chapter 2 Day 2

Sammy woke up and looked at his clock. It was 3:00 in the morning and he heard voices. He crept down the hall to listen. "How am I going to face my boss?" mumbled a voice he recognized as father's.
"Tell me again what happened," said another voice he pasted to mother.
"It isn't pretty. While I was working my boss came over to me and said If I find you here again tomorrow you will be fired! He then went on to another worker that worked for him and said the same things to them. I heard that in the end he got 1/6 of the workers into this position. Mary, if I lose my job then we won't be able to by groceries," replied father.
"You are always thinking about food, but that is a danger," mother thought out loud
Sammy crept back to bed.
The next morning after breakfast he consulted his father. "I heard what you said last night to mother. I am asking you if I could leave so that the others can have food."
"No."
"But why?"
"I said no," father's face turned stern, "Just pray. God will help us in some way."
The rest of the day went the same as yesterday.

Chapter 1 Day 1

"Mmmmm....." Thought Sammy. This has been a wonderful day. "I never thought that I would get a scooter of my very own."
Sammy ran his fingers through his strait brown hair that needed to be cut. He had bright blue eyes that almost shown, and had a birth mark on his cheek. He went to a school that started about one o'clock. He loved school and looked forward to it every day. He couldn't sleep but was lying there in bed thinking over the events of the day. His mother had said that when he was twelve he could have a scooter and here he was finally. His birthday was yesterday. He had received a nice shiny scooter.
George stood up, turned around and went to sleep. George was the family cat. He was a brown tabby. Sammy smiled and went back to thinking. His mother had let him ride his new scooter just before he came in for supper. IT WAS FAST! It was probably the fastest scooter in town!
Next thing he knew, it was morning. Light was flooding through the windows. And it was warm. He could feel his body soaking up the warmth. All of the sudden he heard a voice calling "Breakfast is ready. Come and get it."
Just then he noticed that the cat was gone. Then he looked at his alarm clock. It was 7:00! "What is happening?" he asked himself.
He hurried downstairs into the kitchen. The cat was lapping a saucer of milk, and the family had already started eating! Father had a sad expression on his face. He was always thoughtful but today he was more so than usual. He sat down and started listening to his parents conversation. Mother was very caring. Luckily both of his parents were disapproving in areas like smoking, drinking, and drugs. Katie, Sammy's younger sister, was gulping down her food. She was a little bit small for her age, thoughtful, and she always tried to think things out before asking. Tiny Tim on the other hand had hardly eaten anything, which was unusual. He had a near-tears expression on his face. He was always insistent, playful, and he always wanted his way. That trait had not diminished this morning.
"Why couldn't the school house burn some other morning?" asked Tim.
Sammy gave a little gasp. "Now, now it is O.K," said Mother. "We are going to help rebuild it. Remember it didn't burn this morning it burned last night. And, Sammy could you baby-sit your brother and sister?"
"Sure," replied Sammy.
"We will be gone all day."
Sammy's heart dipped a little.
Then his parents stood up and mother did the dishes. Father went out to start the car. Sammy caught his father out side coming out of the car and walking up the driveway to help mother get the dishes done sooner so that they could go.
"How bad was the damage?" Sammy asked.
"Not to bad. We should be done in about seven days," replied father. Father left a sad Sammy standing alone on the sidewalk. A few minuites later his parents came out.
"Remember to do the chores," called mother from the car.
Waving his hand, he turned and went into the house. The children were restless but the day went smoothly. He made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch and supper when his parents came home. At the end of the day all were exhausted except for Katie. Tiny Tim tried to prove to his sister that he could circle the yard 2000 times in one day. Sammy ended up spending most of his day in the yard either eating or reading from his text book. Katie just sat and watched... and kept count. At last it was time for bed.

Charlie's wonderful outing

Mommy got Charlie out and instead of putting her on her play perch she put her on her lap and started reading to her. Charlie soon however lost intrest in being read to. so we got out a bunch of toys and she very happily played with them. One of her faveoite games this time was to pick up a toy and drop it. Then we would pick it up and give it to her. We would do this over and over again. Mommy tried to scrich her but she didn't seem interested inher doing so. We had a lot of fun and I think that she did to.

SimCity 3000 Unlimited

Another game Beth and I like is SimCity 3000 Unlimited. For a while we have liked the rest of the series and we loved this one but then we lost the CD. We found it again but then we got a few more games which led to the second downfall of the game. My sister then forgot that we had found it. So when I suggested playing it. She got very excited. Yesterday we played it a lot after I mentioned it. Now you may be saying "But 4000 has been out for a while now and it has a lot more cool features." I know. But right now I'm glad with what I have.

If I were a cat:

If I were a cat I wouldn't swing a bat.
If I were a mouse I wouldn't have a house.
If I were a bird I wouldn't say a word.
If I were a snake I wouldn't use a rake.
If I were a hound I wouldn't like the pound.
If I were a mole I wouldn't dig for coal.
If I were a cow I wouldn't take a bow.
So I'd rather just be me just me.

Finished the Mysterious Island

note: I had a much more detailed version of this post but I lost it and it was Probably better for if you read it then it will be more exciting because you will be reading details not mentioned in this post.

Jup has become a fateful servant and they have made themselves quite comfortable and they have high hopes for good futures. They made a bigger boat and sailed to Tabor Island where they found a wild man which they tamed. They got attacked by pirates (they were safe). and they found out who had been helping them (there was someone helping them in many ways. For example they had found Cyrus in an inland cave and he could not have walked there. There was a torpedo launched underwater and it destroyed the pirate ship and many other things.) and they are very thankful. You'll never guess who it is.

Reading The Mysterious Island, (lost count)

(see last couple posts on this subject)

Sure enough they found a large hole in the tunnel. They have made a house there and called Granite House. They made windows and even a door in the thinnest part. The house happens to be a cliff right next to the sea. They made a rope ladder up the face of the cliff and blocked up the old entrance. They made some more bricks and divided the area into rooms. There was a well like hole at the end of the cavity and they could see that the water would never come back up. They put a lid over the hole and made that corner a storage room. I thick that it would be very easy to sweep for you just take the broom or brush and gather all the dust, lift the lid and dump it into the hole. They managed to catch a pig and its babies so they had pig for supper. Pencroft the sailor took a big bite and lost a tooth. Spilett asked what the matter was and the sailor said "I have lost a tooth"
"What! Are there pebbles in your slice?"
Pencroft brought out a lead bullet. It was then assumed (contrary to other observations) that the island was inhabited. They found a turtle and turned it upside down and went away going to get it latter. But when they returned it was gone! They then decided that A search of the island was needed. They made a bark boat and set out for the other side of the island. They found a lot of useful resources with witch they were very grateful. They found a chest witch contained loads of useful items. They found the balloon that had taken them to this island and they thought of it as a gift from heaven as the fabrics could be put to good use and the net could also be very useful. But it was to heavy to take with them so they hid it and continued on. But when the got back to Granite House it was midnight and in the darkness the searched for the rope ladder but found none. So they all called out and herd a chuckle in reply but other than that nothing was heard. So they went back to the chimneys and stayed there for the night. The next morning they found that the door was open. They tried to bring the ladder down by shooting and arrow with a rope attached to it. But as they began to pull the ladder down they saw an arm reach out of the door to pull the ladder back up which it succeeded in doing though not with out a shot aimed at it. The shot missed. So they decided that they should go in though the opening and just then loads of monkeys jumped out. a few seconds after which the rope ladder rolled down. They then climbed up and found an orangutan whom they named Jup and they trained Jup to be a servant.
I still haven't caught up but mother is complaining that I am taking to long so I will continue on Monday.

They hold me fascinated
Many colored blooms.

Warmth: Good or Bad

I have mixed feelings about the warmth that is slowly but surely arriving.
Reasons I like it:
  1. I ride (Horses) better when it is warmer.
  2. I can go out to the car without a coat. (I am especially thankful on Sabbaths when I where my short-sleeved Pathfineder shirt)
  3. We can have the windows open.
  4. There are games I like to play when its warm.
  5. There are many things I like to do outside that I can't do when there is snow on the ground.
  6. There are many things I can't do when it is cold.
But there Are also thing I don't like about it.
  1. I like playing in the snow.
  2. The snow hasn't been here long.
  3. I like how beautiful it is.
  4. We have some more types of birds in our backyard in the winter.
  5. The cats are a little less eager to go outside.
  6. The poops and mud are frozen at the barn and it is much easier to clean the stalls and clean there hooves.
These are some of the reasons that I have mixed feelings about the warmer weather.

Creatures2

Beth and I have been playing Creatures2 recently. It is a really fun game where you have these creatures named Norns that you take care of. There are also Ettins and Grendals. You have to feed, breed, love, and play with your creatures. There are bad critters and good critters, bad plants and good plants that you have to sort out. Your creatures can get sick. The Grendels carry a protective coating that can make other creatures sick. You have to teach them how to speak in a way that you can understand. You have to punish them when they disobey and reward them when they obey.

Snow!!!!!!

I can't believe it is snowing!!!!! I am soooo HAPPY!!!!! Snow is a wonderful thing right now. I am just bouncing for joy!!!!!!! I just wish that I could put a picture up but I can't use Mommy's camera without permission and mommy is out shopping. So many things are happening today. There is a game I want to play on the computer and I want to play in the snow and we just learned that a friend will come over Friday and we have a baby sitting job if or neighbor doesn't call it of first. Riker

I like Riker and obviously (as you will see in a moment) she likes me. I have felt her lie in bed with me and watch the door, intently guarding me from danger (the other cats). I like it when she lies in bed with me. It keeps me warm. However there is a downside to this. I cannot stretch. She has assumed the role of class kitty. And will have since experiments (not really but she watches like it is the most amazing thing in the world), sprawl all over our workbooks and even play with the pencil we are using.

Dolphins

Dolphins are my favorite animal. I thought that I could state some different reasons for those feelings.
  1. They are intelligent loving creatures.
  2. It has long been my dream to swim (which I love to do) with these intelligent creatures.
  3. They like to interact with humans.
  4. They are usually protective of humans.
  5. They are mammals.
  6. They are gentle with children.
  7. Lastly, in my opinion they can smile

Zoo Tycoon

When I think back on Christmas day I think of the meals. I think of how wonderful they were. I just hope that they are that way for my animals. Oh pardon me. I got Zoo Tycoon for Christmas from my parents. Since then I have created a zoo (not a very large one I might admit) which has earned me five awards. I have six different types of animals. In total about thirty-two creatures live in my park. I am also adding a mountain Gorilla. My star rating is three and a half stars. The animals I have in the park right now are: Okapi, Thomson's Gazelle, Zebra, Dromedary Camel, Red Kangaroos, and Gemsbok.

Reading The Mysterious Island, Day 38

Man I really haven't posted much have I? I haven't been reading much either. I do think how ever that I will have more to tell you than last time. (see last post)

Cyrus Harding and his crew have become Brick makers, potters, smiths and they are now chemists. They have found that they are to far from any land to risk sailing away. They made an oven (and a few pots) and with that oven made tools and with those tools they made a ditch. Then they became chemists and they filled that hole with explosive acid and blew up part of the cliff. Now that meant that a lake is pouring out in to the sea the only outlet before this was a hole below ground so hopefully it will make a nice home if it is that kind of hole. They just blew the cave up so probably they will explore the area.

Reading The Mysterious Island, Day 3

They are trying to figure out their latitude and longitude and it is being very confusing.. They are also on a walk trying to find the best place for their observation before noon. They are trying to colonize instead of thinking of it as being stranded. They are talking so much about figuring where they are on the map that I don't have much to tell you. Maybe there will be more tomorrow.

Reading The Mysterious Island, Day 2

Captain Harding is alive and well now. They have named the island Lincoln Island. They are getting more skilled in areas like hunting. They have climbed a volcano and confirmed that it is an island. The captain said that he would make a couple bows and arrows. They made a raft to carry wood to the house. They also selected a better site for a house.

Reading The Mysterious Island, Day 1

I am reading The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne.
It begins during the civil war when five men and one dog escape from a POW camp in Richmond Virginia. They land on a mysterious island in a hot air balloon. Uninhabited by man. Already they have lost their captain, Cyrus Harding, and a dog named Top. The captain's servant Neb is greatly disappointed. They had to use their last match to start a fire. So they are trying to keep the coals alive.

I want to ride my Scotter. I wish that there was snow on the ground. But the snow would not interfer with all the things that one can do in the summer. Like rideing my scootter. I am looking forward to the day when my Heavanly Father comes back. I hope that I will do well in Bible Bowl. I hope that beth will not stop our game we are playing. I wish that I could spend a day were I went outside and it would be sunny and warm be there was snow on the ground that did not melt. and it was perfecet for anything;snow balls, snow forts, snowmen, sleding, skieing, and snow angels. It would also be neat to have a feild that had a layer of ice on it so that we can make windowes out of it. and when I got tiered of making houses I would have time to play millions of games. I wish that I would have bagel egg sandwiches with stripples for breackfast, Two inchaladas for lunch, and homemade pizza for supper. I would like to play video games while eating supper, and go to sleep about midnight.

The timer strikes again

I want to play out side as always. I want to play a game. Especially Settlers of Catan. I wonder when I will be done with school. I want it to snow. I wish that mother and father didn't have to perform a lot in the upcoming weeks. I wish that there was no school. I wish that everyone could play and not have to work. Then mother could read her book as much as she wanted. The squirrels are still here. I hope that we will select a day and completely clean and organize my room. I would like to sea a real penguin. I hope that Cody and I will be able to play a game of some sort. Two minutes to go. I have quite a few more classes today. I would like to play all day. I am hungry. I hope that I can play a settlers tournament.

10 more minutes

I want to play Settlers of Catan the card game or the board game. I wish that I didn't have to type as much because there are so many things that I want to do. I wish that there was no school for that matter. Well I guess that I will be done soon because I am typing fast. We either have to type a certain amount or type for a certain amount of time. They both count like if time ran out and I didn't have a certain amount then I have to type more. Two more minutes. I hope that it will snow soon. I hope that time will run out soon. I am typing more than usual in this amount of time. I must be typing faster. Time is out. spater

The Zoo

Mother is going to sew along the 5 8ths seem allowance. What ever that means. I just got over being sick. We went to the zoo. There was a sleeping panda there which had its paw over its face like he was dreaming a bad dream. There was also a sea lion which we got to see fed. We got to see the three ways it could swim and how fast he could turn. He could even jump out of the water. There were seals right next to the sea lions. The seals swam so slowly in comparison. We got to see a naked mole rat and hear about its diet, were it lives, and what senses it has. There mane sense is there sense of touch. I will talk more about the zoo later. Spater.

Story

Today in English class I had to write a summary of a small story from the outline. The story is about a boy named Jack and his pet monkey, Tip.

Tip and Jack's Homework
By
J. William Ashton

Jack had homework so he put Tip outside. Tip was sad. He went around to what he thought was the right window. It was too high to look in so he took a big stick and banged on the window. Jack, thinking that it was someone at the door opened it. Tip ran in and Jack's plan failed.
